East Texas congressman named to committee on China
Tyler Morning Telegraph February 6, 2025 U.S. Rep. Nathaniel Moran, R-Tyler, has been appointed to a House committee on China. The House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party, under the leadership of Chairman John Moolenaar, R-Mich., is responsible for assessing the threats to the economy and national security posed by the government of China and proposing plans to ensure a strong American future, according to a statement from Moran's office. "It is a great honor to be selected to serve on the China Select Committee," Moran said in a statement. "Every day, the Chinese Communist Party presents new threats that impact East Texas and all Americans. The CCP is the greatest external national security threat to the United States. I look forward to working with Chairman Moolenaar and my colleagues to confront the many challenges posed by the CCP to strengthen America's position as the world's superpower." The House Select Committee on the CCP was created in 2022 by the Republican majority to address threats posed by China. The Committee was approved to continue its work for the 119th Congress under the Republican majority in the House and Senate and alongside the Trump administration. You can read the full story here. |
