Washington, D.C. – Congressman Nathaniel Moran (R-TX-01), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released this statement after voting for legislation which passed the U.S. House of Representatives to counter the escalating threats posed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). This legislative package prioritizes American interests and values against threats from dangerous foreign actors. These bills are essential for safeguarding American national security, economic integrity, and domestic interests.

“Whether it’s reinstating Trump-era initiatives to counter CCP espionage, preventing foreign adversaries from purchasing American agricultural land, or halting taxpayer subsidies to China’s electric vehicle market, these bills are about restoring America’s sovereignty, independence, and strength,” said Congressman Moran. “We want to empower American citizens to stand firm against China’s encroachment on our lands and properties. It is critical that we push back against the CCP’s efforts to infiltrate our schools, land, and economy.”
