Washington, D.C. – Congressman Nathaniel Moran (R-TX-01) released the following statement after Donald Trump announced Senator JD Vance (R-OH) as his Vice-Presidential pick:
“President Trump’s selection of Ohio Senator JD Vance once again reaffirms his commitment to the American dream, and his commitment to make it possible for every American. Senator Vance did not grow up in a privileged childhood, but he understood how to work and study hard, and he dedicated himself to service to his country through the military and in office as a U.S. Senator. He is a solid conservative and is a solid pick for Vice President.”
Senator Vance has served as the junior United States Senator from Ohio since 2023. He graduated with a law degree from Yale Law School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University, after serving in the United States Marine Corps. His best-selling 2016 book, Hillbilly Elegy, which focuses on his upbringing surrounded by abuse and poverty, has been produced as a Netflix movie. He and his wife, Usha, have three children.
