East Texas Rep. Nathaniel Moran appointed to U.S House Ethics Committee
CBS19 By Jude Ratcliff March 13, 2025 An East Texas congressman has been appointed to the bipartisan House Ethics Committee. Rep. Nathaniel Moran announced the appointment on Thursday. The committee is tasked with authorizing and enforcing standards within the U.S House of Representatives, investigate violations of any law, rule or regulation, and make recommendations to the House for further action. "The responsibility of serving on this Committee is one I do not take lightly," Moran said. "As members of the people's House, we should uphold the highest ethical standards and align with the principles, character, and expectations of the American people." Moran was previously named to the House Select Committee on China in February. His legislative efforts include protections for small business, border security and national defense. He also supported Mike Johnson's run for House Speaker of the 119th Congress amid GOP divisions within the House of Representatives, seeking a united congress. "It is my honor to appoint Congressman Nathaniel Moran to the House Ethics Committee," Johnson said. "His impeccable character, commitment to upholding the highest standards of Congress, and his unwavering dedication to public service make him perfectly suited for this role. I have full confidence that he will serve with integrity as we work to improve the American people's trust in Congress." Read the full story from CBS19 here. |
