Washington, D.C. – Congressman Nathaniel Moran (R-TX-01) joined Congressman Richard Hudson (R-NC-09) and more than 120 of their colleagues in introducing the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. This bipartisan legislation would provide nationwide reciprocity for concealed carry license holders and for residents of Constitutional Carry states. President Donald J. Trump has expressed a commitment to sign national concealed carry reciprocity legislation into law.
“The Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens should not end at the state line,” said Congressman Moran. “I am proud to cosponsor Congressman Hudson’s legislation to streamline the patchwork of state laws on concealed carry and ensure law-abiding citizens don’t become criminals just by crossing a state line. Our Founding Fathers determined in the Constitution that Americans have the fundamental right to keep and bear arms. I will fight to protect this cherished right for every law-abiding American citizen.”
Specifically, the bill allows people with state-issued concealed carry licenses or permits to conceal a handgun in any other state. It also allows residents of Constitutional Carry states to carry in other states.
This legislation is supported by major pro-Second Amendment organizations, including the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA), Gun Owners of America (GOA), the U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USCCA), and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).
