VIDEO: Congressman Moran Reacts to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Joint Address to Congress

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Nathaniel Moran (R-TX-01), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the following video statement in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s joint address to Congress:

“This is Congressman Moran. I am standing outside of the U.S. Capitol, just minutes after the Prime Minister gave his remarks here in the Capitol. He’s about to depart, but I’m going to tell you, I was really moved today by his statements. A couple of things he said were remarkable that I want to repeat for you if you didn’t watch it. He said this, ‘We need courage and clarity. Clarity to know the difference between good and evil, and frankly, courage to vanquish that evil.’

“He also said, and I loved this as he said it, ‘Our enemies are your enemies. And our fight is your fight. And our victory is your victory,’ talking about the bonds between Israel and the United States. And then finally, I’ll leave you with this. He said, ‘What we need is liberty over tyranny, life over death, and good over evil.’ And that is exactly right. That’s what we need. That’s why we stand firm with Israel, and that’s why we are going to continue to stand firm with Israel during this time. Thank you. God bless you, and God bless the United States.”

Congressman Moran has consistently pushed back against international organizations that are trying to dilute the sovereignty of the United States and its allies. In June, Congressman Moran voted to support the Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act, which would impose sanctions on International Criminal Court (ICC) officials who investigate or prosecute the United States and its allies, including Israel. After House passage of the bill, Congressman Moran joined Sky News to talk about the importance of sending a strong signal to the world that America will reject unjustified investigations by international organizations that have no jurisdiction over the U.S. and its allies.
