Last week, I teamed up with Senator Ted Cruz to introduce the SAVES Act and the Public Water Supply Invasive Species Compliance Act. The SAVES Act removes regulatory burdens for ranchers and conservators engaged in captive breeding of exotic wildlife while promoting animal conservation in the United States.
The Public Water Supply Invasive Species Compliance Act will exempt Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas from the Lacey Act, relieving prohibitions on the illegal trade of wildlife, fish, or plants. The legislation would better facilitate water transfers between the public water supplies of Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas.
Together, Senator Cruz and I are working to provide East Texans with relief from unnecessary regulatory burdens while promoting conservation efforts in the Texas-Louisiana-Arkansas region.
