$17 Million in Stimulus Funds Released for Ft. Myer & Belvoir |

Washington, D.C., April 28th – Congressman Jim Moran, Virginia Democrat, announced this morning that over $17 million in stimulus funding has been released for maintenance and repair projects at Ft. Myer in Arlington County, Virginia and Ft. Belvoir in Fairfax County, Virginia. “The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act was designed to rebuild our nation’s infrastructure and put people back to work,” said Moran. “The projects at Ft. Myer and Ft. Belvoir fit this mold, upgrading two military installations to the benefit of our military men and women that are critical to our nation’s defense and northern Virginia’s economy.” A total of $17,087,405 in stimulus funding was released by the Defense Department for Fort Myer and Fort Belvoir. Below is the breakdown of how the funds will be spent: • $98,090 Fort Myer: Replace air handling unit (AHU) and Controls Building P-73
