Moran Statement on Debris Falling from Route 50 Bridge |
||
|
Washington, D.C., March 5th – Congressman Jim Moran, Northern Virginia Democrat, released the following statement regarding a chunk of concrete and steel debris that fell from a Glebe Rd. bridge and landed on Route 50 in Arlington, Virginia. “This incident underscores the need to strengthen our crumbling physical infrastructure; the roads, bridges and highways that link our people and economies in the Washington Metropolitan region. The Recovery Package passed by Congress was a down payment on that effort, providing over $600 million for transportation improvements in the Commonwealth.” “But until the General Assembly can find agreement on a long term transportation funding plan, federal efforts will be insufficient to meet the state’s ongoing needs.” |
