Statement on Shooting at Holocaust Museum |
||
|
Washington, D.C., June 10th – Congressman Jim Moran, Virginia Democrat, issued the following statement regarding this afternoon’s shooting at the U.S. Holocaust Museum in downtown Washington. “This is a tragic reminder that hatred and extreme, violent prejudice still exist in our society. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the security guard killed by this heinous act. “The Holocaust Memorial Museum and the values it stands for: tolerance, understanding and vigilance against anti-Semitism and genocide were also attacked today. It’s my hope that this event will spur the American people to further reject and discredit the hateful, misguided ideologies that foment this sort of violence.” --30-- |
